DEVELOPING A FOUNDATION FOR SUCCESS

Braden River Soccer Club (BRSC) offers recreational boys & girls soccer programs for aspiring athletes that are passionate about the game. We believe in providing all local community soccer players an opportunity to participate in the game of soccer at a level that meets their developmental needs (i.e., physical, mental, and emotional status).

This developmental program offers an instructional and participation program in the Fall and Spring. Our boys, girls, and coed programs are available for ages 4 through 18. With approximately 500 players per season, this program provides a diverse player pool and fun competition. Recreational soccer is available to all of our youth regardless of their playing ability.

BOYS & GIRLS

TRAINING SESSIONS:
10 practices (beginning week of February 28). Practices are once per week on either Wednesday or Friday evening.

GAMES:
8 games (beginning March 10th and concluding on April 28th). ALL games will be held on Sunday Afternoons with the exception of Saturday March 30th.

SEASON:
From February 28, 2024 to April 28, 2024

** ALL FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. Registration will close on Feb 9, 2024 and age groups will close prior if they fill up before that date.

This document is to inform you of proper sideline behavior while watching our youth play soccer.

US Youth Soccer Code of Conduct

1. Please sit at least 4 feet behind the sideline.
2. Please do not sit on the corner flag, please provide at least 4 feet of space to allow our players to take a corner kick without any interference.
3. Please do not sit behind the goal as it is distracting to our players and can be unsafe.
4. Please do not yell at referees, opposing players, or even your own child during a game! Referees do the best they can, keep in mind they are someone’s child, some referees are as young as 12 or 13 years old. Please do not disrespect them.
5. Yelling instructions to your child… It will most likely be contradictory to what his/her coach may be trying to teach them. Please let the coach do his/her job, you provide positive cheer, encouragement, and snacks after the game. Let’s have fun and enjoy the game!

It is important to the development of the players and for the reputation of the club that the following guidelines be followed for game time etiquette.

UNIFORMS

For recreational soccer, the uniforms are included in the registration and an automatic order is placed upon player registration. Each player is provided with two shirts and socks.

Yes… coaches are always parent volunteers! Without our volunteers, there is no Rec Soccer.

If you wish to coach a team…. during the registration process, you have an opportunity to select to be a coach. If you plan on coaching a team (THANK YOU), we will be in touch soon. If you did not sign up to coach during the registration process but would like to volunteer as a coach, please email: brscac@bradenriversoccer.org

Players are required to wear shin guards at all practices and games, no ands, ifs, or buts. This is a nationwide rule.

They should also bring a ball with them to each practice.

Ball sizes are:
U5 – U8 – Size 3
U9 – U12 – Size 4
U13 – U18 – Size 5

Soccer cleats are recommended for all ages, but not required. Please ensure they are soccer cleats, as baseball/softball cleats are not permitted!

Please include ample water and most important a winning smile 🙂

The games are played at our fields located behind Lakewood Ranch High School.

volunteer positions

Coach

1. Lead team through the season, focusing on fun, sportsmanship, and basic technical skill development.

2. Equipment provided by BRSC.

3. Coaching  session plans will be provided.

4. Coaches must complete background check and SafeSport.

Assistant Coach

Assist the Coach in their responsibilities at practices and on game days, filling in where needed.

Assumes the role of Coach in case a volunteer cannot be found. Assistant Coaches are encouraged to attend all training sessions.

Field setup

Assist the Recreational Director with setting with goals, corner flags, and tents.

Our COMPETITIVE Program

Elevate Your Game With The Largest Club in Southwest Florida

Braden River Soccer Club (BRSC) offers elite boys & girls soccer programs for committed athletes that are passionate about elevating their game. With a long history of success and more than 600 competitive athletes in our program, BRSC has continually produced top players and competitive teams.

We offer U8-U19 teams and various levels including premier, elite and select. Players will be placed in an environment where they will compete and be challenged with the ability to move up based on performance.

The major difference is the level of competition and commitment required by both the parents and the players. All competitive teams require an increased time, financial and training commitment.

8 -10 month season with 2 -4 practices per week depending on the age group.  Games that are played home and away, with required travel for away games and tournaments.

Tryouts are typically held at the beginning of May. Details are communicated as soon as they are confirmed. If main tryout dates have passed, 1-on-1 Evaluations can be scheduled by contacting the club HERE.

Players may be offered the opportunity to train and play with the higher level team based on ability and need.

BRSC strives to keep fees as low as possible, utilizing many hard-working volunteers to keep operation costs to a minimum and charging only what is necessary to cover our program, staffing, field, and equipment costs. As a result, we are able to offer a high-quality program at costs less than comparable soccer clubs in the area.

Players are required to purchase both a Training kit and a Game kit for the season. BRSC runs a two-year cycle for both kits, with the kits alternating in years for minimal financial impact at one time.

Training kit cost – $60 per kit plus shipping cost Game kit cost – approximately $185 per kit plus shipping cost Optional additional items and Team Gear are available for purchase Tournament, travel, and individual team fees are additional and will vary by team. These fees are typically split between the players and can be offset by team fundraising and team sponsorship.

BRSC offers the following payment plans for Competitive Players:

1. Pay in full.

2. Monthly for 4 months

3. Monthly for 8 months

4. Monthly for 10 months

LEAGUE AFFILATION

ECNL Regional League – Florida (ECNL-RL)

The ECNL Regional League is a highly regarded soccer league that operates within the Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) structure. It is designed to provide a competitive playing environment for talented youth soccer players (boy & girls) across various regions. The league focuses on player development, high-quality competition, and exposure to college scouts.

US Club Soccer is a national organization and member of the United States Soccer Federation that works to develop and support soccer clubs in the United States. It was founded in 2001 as the National Association of Competitive Soccer Clubs.

Among US Club Soccer’s guiding principles:

– Clubs are the vehicle through which players are developed, and US Club Soccer should help facilitate club development throughout the country.
– Clubs and their leadership should be the primary decision-makers in the structure and organization of soccer.
– US Club Soccer should provide leadership and a vehicle for clubs and technical leaders to work together to elevate the game and player development environment.

Through US Club Soccer, all of a club’s programs – rec, youth competitive and adult – are able to be united under one organizational umbrella, creating a “members for life” culture within each club. US Club Soccer’s programming has all been developed with strong input from clubs around the country and with a minimum of rules and restrictions to allow efficient and innovative operations.
The National Premier Leagues (NPL) is a national competition platform created by US Club Soccer to elevate and change the competitive youth soccer landscape.

Established in 2011, the NPL extends developmental principles espoused by US Club Soccer into more geographically targeted, league-based competitions around the country. These leagues are designed to provide a unified, league-based national developmental platform with the highest level of competition in given geographic areas, and to elevate and change the youth soccer experience for the better.

Top teams from each NPL (which are usually league champions) qualify for the NPL Finals, where they compete for a national championship. By providing high-level, consistent, and meaningful competition, the NPL seeks to enhance player development and coaching education throughout the country.

The West Florida Premier League (WFPL) is a Club and Team based league focused on offering multiple levels of play for the U8 through U19 age groups within the Western region of Florida. The U13 – U19 age group winners qualify for US Club Post Season advancement.

– U13-U19 (Qualify for Post-Season)
– Full year schedule

The FCL Academy is an exclusive league offered for the U11 and U12 age groups only. The Academy will consist of Pre-ECNL, Pre-ECNL-RL and Pre-NPL teams.

The Florida Youth Soccer Association (FYSA) is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization that serves as the governing body for youth soccer in the state of Florida. As an affiliate of US Youth Soccer and the United States Soccer Federation (USSF), it seeks to promote and develop the sport of soccer for children and teenagers throughout Florida. FYSA’s mission extends to include fostering physical, mental, and emotional growth, encouraging good sportsmanship, and creating a safe and positive environment for all participants. It organizes various leagues, tournaments, coaching education programs, and player development initiatives to ensure a holistic approach to the sport. With its extensive network of clubs and programs, FYSA is committed to creating opportunities for young athletes of all skill levels to participate in and enjoy the game of soccer.

The purpose of the association shall be to provide a scheduling body for those clubs wishing to become affliated, to promote the welfare of the youth and adults involved in youth soccer; to promote good sportsmanship for and from all involved in youth soccer; to encourage educational courses, clinics and instruction for the purpose of increasing the knowledge and efficiency of those involved in youth soccer, regardless of race, color, national origin, religion or sex; and, to engage in all other acts it may be legally permitted to do.

TOPSOCCER Program

EVERYONE'S GAME: Opportunities to play through TOPSoccer

US Youth Soccer TOPSoccer (The Outreach Program for Soccer) is a recreational sports program for children and adults with intellectual, emotional, or physical disabilities offered only through local US Youth Soccer-affiliated soccer clubs.

TOPSoccer provides people with special needs an opportunity to play soccer in a structured environment that is safe, fun, supportive, and inclusive.

Typical diagnoses of TOPSoccer players include autism spectrum disorders (ASD), Down syndrome, ADHD, cerebral palsy (CP), as well as other physical and behavioral conditions. TOPSoccer allows for participation in a community-based sports program without the uneasiness about a perception of lack of ability.

Unique to TOPSoccer is the pairing up of each player with a volunteer ‘Buddy’ who stays with that player every day, throughout the season, and who supports them and makes sure they are safe and having fun!

TOPSoccer is a special needs soccer program that is similar to a recreational program. The players/athletes have diagnoses that include autism spectrum disorders (ASD), Down syndrome, and ADHD. The program is for all ages 3 and higher. There is a registration fee of $25. Payments will be made by cash or check during the parent meeting, equipment distribution night, or the first day of the program. Each participant receives a jersey, soccer ball, water bottle, and cooling towel.

Happy Feet soccer Program

Curriculum

We use familiar songs, stories, nursery rhymes and fun games to introduce soccer to children as young as two years old.  Our unique curriculum triggers your child’s imagination by taking their soccer ball, Bob the Bobcat, on adventures to the zoo, the movies, and even an enchanted castle!  Our philosophy and curriculum encourages children to tame their bobcat with their learned deceptive dribbling and ball striking skills.  We leverage creative play and the important developmental skills it provides to make fitness and soccer their favorite weekly activity! By progressing through our age appropriate curriculum your little one is ensured to have built a solid foundation we hope will lead to a life long involvement in sports and fitness and hopefully soccer!  With an approach designed to support our little soccer stars in classroom learning we will introduce the foundational skills of soccer along with more complex deceptive dribbling and ball striking skills of soccer giving your little soccer star a sport specific head start in the worlds most popular game!
